About

Hello! I’m Dr Liz Tregenza, the lady behind Advantage In Vintage. I’m an academic, researcher, curator and vintage dealer based in South London. Via Advantage In Vintage I sell garments and accessories from Victorian to Modern.

I have been collecting vintage clothing for fifteen years and my personal collection focuses on mid twentieth century garments. Garments from my personal collection featured in Vintage Fashion Complete and I have written two books on vintage, Style Me Vintage: Accessories and Style Me Vintage: 1940s both published by Pavilion.

I am incredibly passionate about twentieth century design and I hold a PhD focusing on Frederick Starke and London Wholesale Couture from the University of Brighton. Yes, I really am a Doctor of Dresses! I also hold an MA in the History of Design from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Fashion Design from Leeds University. My research interests filter into my work and I have worked as a curator at a number of museums. I am currently a post-doctoral research fellow at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

I am more than happy to be contacted regarding twentieth century fashion history, particularly mid-century British design.
